A rich, crunchy toffee topped with smooth milk chocolate and chopped nuts, perfect for sharing at parties or as a sweet homemade gift.

Ingredients

  • 35 soda crackers
  • 2 sticks oleo (margarine)
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • chopped nuts
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Line a jelly roll pan with wax paper.
  2. Arrange the soda crackers, salt side down, in the pan.
  3. In a saucepan, boil the oleo (margarine) and brown sugar together for 5 minutes.
  4. Pour the hot mixture evenly over the crackers.
  5. Bake in a preheated oven at 400°F for 5 minutes.
  6. Immediately sprinkle the milk chocolate chips over the hot toffee.
  7. Allow the chocolate to melt, then spread evenly over the surface.
  8. Sprinkle chopped nuts over the melted chocolate.
  9. Let the toffee cool completely before breaking into pieces.
