- Cream together until light and fluffy the butter and sugar. Add well-beaten eggs and stir until well blended.
- Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
- Add to egg mixture alternately with milk.
- Add almond and vanilla extracts.
- Stir in chopped nut meats.
- A combination of hickory nuts and pecans and perhaps a few English walnuts.
- Be sure to remember to chop some very fine, leaving rest coarsely chopped.
- Pour into a well-greased 10 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.
- Sprinkle top of loaf with a few additional nuts. Let stand 20 minutes, then bake in 375° oven for 1 hour.
