Ingredients

  • 2 c. molasses
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. whipping cream
  • 1/2 tsp. soda

Instructions

  1. Mix molasses and sugar in a saucepan and bring to boiling point.
  2. Add the thick cream, reduce flame to low heat (265°) and continue cooking until a sample makes a hard ball when put in cold water.
  3. Add the soda and beat until thick.
  4. Pour onto a buttered platter.
  5. As edges cool, turn into the center.
  6. When cool enough to handle, pull until light-colored and stiff enough to hold its shape.
  7. Cut into small pieces.
