Ingredients

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon oil of peppermint
  • 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. Boil sugar and water for 5 minutes.
  2. Remove from heat.
  3. Add small 1/2 teaspoon of cream of tartar.
  4. Add peppermint flavoring to taste.
  5. Stir well.
  6. Drop from teaspoon onto wax paper.
  7. Let cool. Optional: add red or green food coloring if desired.
