Ingredients

  • 1.25 cups sugar
  • 0.75 cups butter
  • 3 eggs
  • 0.75 cups sweet milk
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2.25 cups flour
  • 1 cup hickory nuts
  • 0.75 cups sour cream

Instructions

  1. Sift 2 heaping teaspoonfuls of baking powder with 2 1/4 cups flour.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix sugar and butter; beat until creamy.
  3. Add in all other ingredients with the sugar and butter, then mix in a little of flour and baking powder at a time.
  4. Bake in 4 layers.
