  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

  1. Cream shortening, sugar, salt, and eggs until light and soft.
  2. Sift flour and baking powder together.
  3. Add the flour mixture alternately with milk and vanilla to the creamed mixture, beating well after each addition.
  4. Grease cupcake tins or line with paper baking cups.
  5. Fill the cups three-quarters full.
  6. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15 to 20 minutes.
