Ingredients

  • 1 long loaf Italian bread
  • 1 (16 oz.) package mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup sliced olives
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons oregano

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. Cut Italian bread crosswise into 1-inch slices without cutting through the bottom crust.
  3. Cut mozzarella cheese into 1/4-inch slices.
  4. Place cheese slices and sliced olives between the bread slices.
  5. Place the loaf on a cookie sheet and bake for 15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the bread is hot.
  6. Sprinkle the loaf with oregano.
  7. Use a knife to divide the loaf into slices and serve hot.
