Instructions
- Sift first 4 dry ingredients together.
- Mix in butter or shortening.
- Put in raisins.
- Beat egg in cup with fork; add milk. Add to mixed ingredients.
- Bake in greased bread pan at 350° for 3/4 to 1 hour.
- If buttermilk is used in place of sweet milk, add speck of baking soda.
