Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 10 to 12 oz. can mixed nuts
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda

Instructions

  1. Butter a cookie sheet and set aside.
  2. Combine sugar, water, and corn syrup in a large saucepan.
  3. Cook over high heat to 280° on a candy thermometer.
  4. Add nuts and cook, stirring, until the mixture reaches 300° on a candy thermometer.
  5. Remove from heat.
  6. Stir in butter and vanilla until blended.
  7. Add baking soda and stir vigorously until the mixture is foamy and well combined.
