Ingredients

  • 1 lb. fresh mushrooms
  • 1/4 c. salad oil
  • 1/3 c. water
  • bacon
  • 1/2 lb. spicy pork
  • 1 clove crushed garlic
  • 1/2 c. bread crumbs

Instructions

  1. Clean mushrooms and remove stems from caps.
  2. Brush caps with some oil and place in a baking dish (13 x 9-inch).
  3. In a skillet, cook bacon until no longer pink; remove from heat. Drain off all but 2 tablespoons of drippings.
  4. Add bread crumbs and chopped mushroom stems to the skillet and cook briefly.
  5. Spoon the crumb mixture into the oiled mushroom caps.
  6. Pour water into the bottom of the baking dish.
  7. Bake for 20 minutes.
