Ingredients

  • 2 c. white vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp. mild yellow mustard
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. mustard seed
  • 6 whole cloves
  • 1 Tbsp. celery seed
  • yellow food coloring
  • 2 large onions

Instructions

  1. Mix vinegar and yellow mustard in a saucepan; add sugar, salt, mustard seed, cloves, celery seed, and a few drops of food coloring. Simmer for about 10 minutes.
  2. Slice onions and pour the hot vinegar mixture over the onions. Add peeled hard-boiled eggs and refrigerate before serving.
