Ingredients

  • 4 beef cubed steaks (1 to 1 1/4 lb.)
  • 1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 2 pkg. (envelopes) mushroom gravy mix
  • 2 1/2 c. water
  • 1/3 c. chopped onion

Instructions

  1. In large skillet, quickly brown steaks on both sides in hot vegetable oil.
  2. Add onion; cook until onion is almost tender, about 5 minutes.
  3. Combine water and mushroom gravy mix and pour over steaks and onion mixture.
  4. Cover; simmer for 15 minutes. Skim off any excess fat.
  5. Serve with gravy.
  6. Yield: 4 servings.
