Nanie'S Apple Bread Pudding

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 c. white sugar
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 2 1/2 c. milk
  • 8 slices bread, lightly toasted
  • 1 stick butter
  • 2 apples, sliced and peeled
  • raisins
  • cinnamon
  • nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Mix vanilla, sugars, eggs and milk in pan and heat on top of stove until just hot.
  2. Add 1/4 stick of butter and continue heating until butter melts.
  3. Arrange toasted bread in a 9 x 13-inch baking pan.
  4. Pour liquid over toasted bread. Place apple slices and raisins over bread.
  5. Dot with pieces of butter. Sprinkle with a mixture of sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg.
  6. Bake at 350° for 55 to 65 minutes.
