Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup Karo white syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup Crisco or butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup seedless raisins (optional)
  • 1/2 cup pecans
  • 1/2 cup mincemeat
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 tablespoons orange juice

Instructions

  1. Combine sugar, Karo, salt, and Crisco; bring to a boil.
  2. Beat eggs; add raisins, mincemeat, pecans, vanilla, and orange juice.
  3. Gradually add the egg mixture to the hot syrup and let it cool.
  4. Pour the filling into a large unbaked pie shell.
  5. Bake at 350°F until the filling is set.
