Ingredients

  • 1 pkg yeast
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 egg

Instructions

  1. Dissolve the yeast in 1/2 cup warm water.
  2. Add 1/2 teaspoon sugar to the yeast mixture.
  3. Scald and cool 1/2 cup of milk.
  4. Add 3 tablespoons sugar and 1 teaspoon salt to the cooled milk.
  5. Add the milk mixture to the yeast.
  6. Add 2 cups of flour and beat well.
  7. Add 1 egg, 3 tablespoons melted butter, and 1 cup of flour; mix thoroughly.
  8. Let the dough rise until doubled in size.
  9. Divide the dough into rolls.
  10. Let the rolls rise again.
  11. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 10 minutes.
