Ingredients

  • 1 c. solid Crisco
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. hot water
  • 1 c. cold water
  • 6 c. flour
  • 2 pkg. yeast, dissolved in 1/3 cup very warm water

Instructions

  1. Cream the solid Crisco and sugar together.
  2. Add salt, hot water, cold water, and the dissolved yeast in warm water, beating well after each addition.
  3. Let the dough stand for 2 hours.
  4. Beat the dough down.
  5. Put the dough into a covered container.
  6. Take dough out, knead, and roll out as needed.
  7. Let the rolled-out dough stand for 1 hour.
  8. Bake at 375°F for 15 to 20 minutes.
