Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1/2 c. water
  • dash of salt
  • 3 egg whites

Instructions

  1. Mix cornstarch and 2 tablespoons sugar with water and cook together until clear.
  2. Set the mixture aside.
  3. Add a dash of salt to the egg whites.
  4. Beat the egg whites until foamy and standing in peaks.
  5. Add the cornstarch mixture and continue to beat until creamy.
  6. Gradually add 6 tablespoons sugar while beating.
  7. Beat until the meringue is stiff.
  8. Pile the meringue on the pie and bake at 325° for approximately 30 minutes or until a delicate brown.
