Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. light brown sugar
  • 1 unbeaten egg
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Mix sugars and shortening; add vanilla and egg.
  2. Mix dry ingredients.
  3. Add dry ingredients to sugar mixture.
  4. Fold in chopped pecans.
  5. Roll dough in wax paper and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before baking.
  6. Bake at 375°F for 10 minutes.
