Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. pecans
  • 2 c. walnuts
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 c. sugar
  • dash of salt
  • 1/2 c. butter or margarine

Instructions

  1. Place nuts in a shallow baking dish.
  2. Toast in a preheated 325° oven for 10 minutes.
  3. Beat egg whites until soft peaks form.
  4. Add sugar and salt to the egg whites.
  5. Continue beating until stiff peaks form.
  6. Fold in toasted nuts.
  7. Melt butter in a jelly roll pan.
  8. Spread the nut mixture over the melted butter.
  9. Bake for 30 minutes at 325°, stirring every 10 minutes.
