Nut Macaroon Squares

Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 1 c. brown sugar, packed
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. nuts, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. baking powder

Instructions

  1. Mix together butter and 1/2 cup brown sugar; press into an 8-inch square pan.
  2. Bake at 325° for 10 minutes.
  3. Mix remaining ingredients together thoroughly.
  4. Spread over baked layer.
  5. Return to oven to bake 1/2 hour or until lightly browned.
