Ingredients

  • 8 oz. semi-sweet chocolate
  • 1/4 cup margarine, melted
  • 1 cup chocolate cookie crumbs
  • 1/2 cup caramel topping
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 (4-serving size) package vanilla instant pudding
  • 8 oz. Cool Whip, thawed

Instructions

  1. Chop 4 squares of chocolate and set aside.
  2. Mix melted margarine with chocolate cookie crumbs.
  3. Press the mixture into the bottom of a foil-lined 9-inch square pan.
  4. Spread caramel topping over the cookie crumb crust.
  5. Pour milk into a medium bowl and add vanilla instant pudding mix.
  6. Beat with a whisk for 1 to 2 minutes.
  7. Let stand for 5 minutes, then fold in thawed Cool Whip, chopped chocolate, and peanuts.
  8. Spread the pudding mixture over the caramel topping.
  9. Freeze for 4 hours or until firm.
  10. Melt the remaining chocolate with 3 tablespoons of margarine.
  11. Spread the melted chocolate over the pudding layer.
  12. Chocolate will harden immediately.
  13. Lift the dessert from the pan using the foil handles.
  14. Cut into bars and serve.
