Ingredients

  • 6 large pork chops
  • 6 thick lemon slices
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 cup red wine

Instructions

  1. Season the pork chops with salt and pepper on both sides.
  2. Turn the heat down to 300°F (150°C).
  3. Place a lemon slice on each chop.
  4. Pour a sauce made of ketchup, brown sugar, and red wine over the chops.
  5. Cover and simmer for 1 to 1 1/2 hours, basting frequently to prevent the brown sugar from burning.
  6. Alternatively, bake in a covered oven at 350°F (175°C) for the same amount of time.
  7. Ensure low heat during cooking; timing is flexible.
  8. Serve and enjoy the flavorful pork chops, including the lemon slices.
