Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Mix together the molasses and milk in a large bowl.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, all-purpose flour, sugar, baking soda, salt, and chopped nuts; stir quickly.
  3. Pour the dry mixture into the liquid and stir until just blended.
  4. Pour the batter into a greased and floured 9 1/2 x 5 1/4 x 2 3/4-inch loaf pan.
  5. Bake in a preheated 350°F (175°C) oven for 50 to 60 minutes.
  6. Cool in the pan before slicing.
