Old Fashioned Raisin Bread

Ingredients

  • 1 (1 lb.) box raisins
  • 2 c. boiling water
  • 2 tsp. soda
  • 1/4 lb. margarine
  • 4 c. self-rising flour, sifted
  • 2 tsp. pumpkin pie spice

Instructions

  1. Mix all ingredients and let stand overnight.
  2. Next morning add 2 cups white sugar and 2 well beaten eggs. Sift together flour and pumpkin pie spices.
  3. Mix into raisin mixture thoroughly.
  4. Bake in 2 loaf pans at 350° for 60 minutes (or until a toothpick comes out clean).
