Ingredients

  • 2 c. scalded milk
  • 2 whole eggs
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 4 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Instructions

  1. Scald the milk in the top of a double boiler.
  2. Beat together the eggs, sugar, and salt until well combined.
  3. Add the egg mixture to the hot milk and mix well, then return to the top of the double boiler.
  4. Cook over hot water, stirring often, until the eggs coat the back of a spoon.
  5. Let cool and serve with whipped cream or cookies.
