Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 c. sifted plain flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. chopped pecans (if you like)
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 Tbsp. milk

Instructions

  1. Sift flour, salt and baking powder together.
  2. Cream butter, sugar and eggs.
  3. Add vanilla, milk and dry ingredients.
  4. Blend well.
  5. Place dough on a lightly floured board.
  6. Sprinkle a little flour over the dough and roll to about 1/2-inch thick.
  7. Cut with cookie cutter.
  8. Place on cookie sheet and bake in a moderate oven at 350° or 375° for about 12 to 15 minutes or until lightly browned on top.
  9. This recipe does not call for pecans, but I add 1 cup chopped.
  10. It makes them better.
