Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 4 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 c. boiling water
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 Tbsp. butter

  2. Cook in a double boiler for 15 minutes, stirring often.
  3. Add the rest of the sugar and beaten egg yolks; cook a few minutes longer.
  4. Add butter and vinegar.
  5. Flavor with lemon extract if desired and cool.
  6. Pour into a baked pie shell and top with meringue.
