- Cook cauliflower, potatoes, peas, and carrots separately in salt water until tender.
- Place the cauliflower in the center of a large round or oblong platter.
- Sprinkle the cauliflower with black pepper and melted butter.
- Cream the potatoes and make a ring around the cauliflower, about 2 inches wide.
- Season the peas with butter and pepper, then place them in the trench around the cauliflower.
- Arrange seasoned carrots, cut lengthwise, around the dish with pointed ends outward.
