Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. yeast
  • 1 c. warm water
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1 c. hot water
  • 2 to 4 c. self-rising flour

Instructions

  1. Dissolve yeast in warm water; set aside.
  2. Combine milk and self-rising flour, mixing well.
  3. Add yeast mixture, sugar, shortening, hot water, and remaining ingredients; mix thoroughly.
  4. Leave in the mixing bowl to rise until doubled in bulk.
  5. Roll out like biscuit dough, shape into rolls.
  6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 15 to 20 minutes or until done.
