Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons margarine
  • 1 teaspoon shredded orange peel
  • 1/3 cup orange juice
  • 1/2 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Combine all-purpose flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt in a bowl, then cut in margarine until the mixture is crumbly. Make a hole in the center.
  2. Add shredded orange peel to the mixture.
  3. Pour in orange juice and milk, then stir until the dough clings together.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 10 to 12 strokes, then roll out the dough.
  5. Cut out biscuits from the rolled dough.
  6. Place the biscuits in a greased pan.
  7. Bake at 450°F (230°C) for 12 to 15 minutes until golden.
