Ingredients

  • 2 c. flour
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 sticks margarine
  • 4 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 1 c. water
  • 1/2 c. buttermilk or 1/2 c. milk with 2 tsp. vinegar
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Instructions

  1. Grease and flour a large cookie sheet with sides.
  2. Preheat oven to 400°.
  3. Sift flour and sugar together in a large bowl.
  4. In a 2-quart saucepan, melt margarine, cocoa and water.
  5. Bring to a rapid boil.
  6. Pour over flour and sugar mix. Add buttermilk with soda.
  7. Mix. Add eggs and vanilla.
  8. Mix and pour into prepared cookie sheet.
  9. Bake for 20 minutes.
