Pasta Frola is a sweet Italian pastry perfect for special occasions, with a hint of vanilla and butter.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • vanilla
  • 1 cup sweet butter
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 egg yolk

Instructions

  1. Cream softened butter and sugar; add yolks, vanilla and flour.
  2. Roll out on ungreased cookie sheet (10 x 15-inch).
  3. Bake for 1 hour.
  4. Halfway through cooking take out and cut in 2-inch squares and return to oven and bake until done.
  5. Bake for an additional 1 hour at 275°.
