Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. white sugar
  • 2 c. flour
  • 3/4 c. shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. chopped pecans
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 3/4 tsp. soda
  • dash of salt

Instructions

  1. Mix first 5 ingredients together.
  2. Add cinnamon, soda, salt and pecans.
  3. Roll mixture out 1/2-inch thick.
  4. Cut with a small round cookie cutter.
  5. Place one pecan half on each cookie.
  6. Bake at 350° until lightly brown.
  7. This will make a pretty, dainty cookie.
  8. You can substitute the pecan half with a red or green cherry.
