Ingredients

  • 4 qt. sliced hamburger dill pickles
  • 1 (2 oz.) bottle Tabasco sauce
  • 5 lb. sugar

Instructions

  1. Drain juice from all 4 jars of sliced dill pickles.
  2. Keep 3 cups of pickle juice.
  3. Add Tabasco sauce to the pickle juice and set aside.
  4. Layer the pickle slices and sugar in a glass pan until all are layered.
  5. Pour the pickle juice mixture over the layered pickle slices and sugar.
  6. Let sit for 10 hours until the sugar is dissolved.
  7. Remove the pickle slices and transfer them to a gallon jar; cover with a lid.
  8. Let stand for 1 week to seal in the jars.
  9. Do not heat the pickles.
  10. Heat only the jars and lids to seal. When unsealed, keep in the refrigerator.
