- Grease casserole and make a layer of hamburg using the whole pound.
- Salt and pepper well.
- Add a layer of sliced onion.
- Slice 2 potatoes and season.
- Add carrots and season.
- Pour in the peas, juice and all.
- Top with the remaining potatoes.
- Fill casserole half full with water and top with dabs of butter.
- Bake, covered, in a 375° oven for 1 hour.
