Ingredients

  • 1 c. raw peanuts
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. white Karo syrup
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. oleo
  • 1 tsp. baking soda

Instructions

  1. Measure peanuts, sugar, syrup, and salt into a 1 1/2 quart glass bowl.
  2. Stir to blend.
  3. Microwave 8 minutes, stopping and stirring several times.
  4. Add oleo and vanilla, then microwave an additional 2 minutes without stirring.
  5. Remove candy from oven and add baking soda.
  6. Pour candy onto a buttered cookie sheet and let cool.
  7. Run a knife around outer edges for easier removal from cookie sheet.
  8. Break into pieces.
