Ingredients

  • 1 unbaked 9-inch pie shell
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 tsp. lemon juice
  • 5 1/2 c. thin sliced apples
  • 3 Tbsp. melted butter
  • 3 Tbsp. cold crunchy peanut butter
  • 1/4 c. sugar

Instructions

  1. Combine 1/4 teaspoon salt, 3/4 cup sugar, flour, vanilla, and lemon juice. Toss with sliced apples. Spoon into pie shell.
  2. Drizzle melted butter over the apple filling.
  3. Blend chilled peanut butter, 1/4 cup sugar, corn flakes, and 1/8 teaspoon salt with a pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Sprinkle the peanut butter mixture over the apple layer.
  5. Bake in a moderate oven at 350°F for 50 to 60 minutes.
