Ingredients

  • 8 lb. pears, peeled and cored
  • 4 large apples, peeled and cored
  • 4 large oranges, seeded
  • 1 large lemon, seeded
  • 3 lb. raisins
  • 6 c. sugar
  • 1 1/2 c. vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp. nutmeg
  • 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2 Tbsp. ground cloves
  • 1 tsp. salt

Instructions

  1. Grind the peeled and cored pears, apples, seeded oranges, and seeded lemon, including peels.
  2. Transfer the mixture to a large roaster pan.
  3. Add raisins, sugar, vinegar, nutmeg, cinnamon, ground cloves, and salt to the pan.
  4. Cook in a 300°F (150°C) oven for 2 hours.
  5. Stir every 20 minutes during cooking.
  6. Allow to cool before using or storing.
