Ingredients

  • 1 lb butter
  • 2 cups finely chopped pecans
  • 12 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 cups sugar

Instructions

  1. Sprinkle 1 cup of chopped pecans and half of the chocolate chips over a buttered 10 x 15-inch pan.
  2. In a heavy saucepan, melt the butter and sugar together.
  3. Heat the mixture to 300°F using a candy thermometer, which takes approximately 15 minutes.
  4. Pour the hot mixture over the layered ingredients in the pan.
  5. Sprinkle with the remaining chocolate chips and let it set until the chocolate is soft.
  6. Spread the softened chocolate evenly over the candy and top with the remaining pecans.
