Ingredients

  • 3 cups light brown sugar
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup dark corn syrup
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup pecan halves

Instructions

  1. Put the brown sugar, sour cream, and corn syrup in a saucepan and cook to soft ball stage (234°F).
  2. Add the butter and vanilla to the mixture.
  3. Let the candy stand without stirring until it cools to 112°F.
  4. Add the pecans and stir until the mixture is stiff enough to drop by teaspoonfuls onto wax paper.
  5. Let the candies stand for a few hours before removing from the wax paper.
  6. Store the candies in layers separated by wax paper.
