Penuchi is a rich, creamy nut-filled confection with caramel and vanilla flavors, perfect for satisfying sweet cravings and sharing at gatherings or as a delightful treat.

Ingredients

  • 2 c. light brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. margarine
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 2/3 c. milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Instructions

  1. Put sugar and milk in a saucepan and boil, stirring constantly, until syrup reaches soft ball stage.
  2. Remove from heat.
  3. Add margarine but do not stir and set aside to cool to lukewarm.
  4. Add vanilla and beat until mixture is thick and creamy.
  5. Stir in chopped nuts.
  6. Pour into a lightly greased 9 x 5 x 3-inch pan.
  7. Cool and cut into squares.
