Perfect Rolls

- In a large bowl, combine sugar, salt, yeast, and 2 cups of flour.
- In a pan, heat margarine and water until very warm (120° to 130°).
- Beat the liquid into the dry mixture until blended.
- Increase speed to medium and beat for 2 minutes.
- Beat in the egg.
- Continue beating for 2 minutes more.
- Stir in the remaining 3 to 4 cups of flour to make a soft dough.
- Turn the dough onto a floured surface.
- Knead for 10 minutes.
- Shape the dough into a ball and let rest for 10 minutes.
- Shape the dough into rolls and let rise for 1 hour.
- Bake in a 400°F (200°C) oven for 15 to 20 minutes.
