Perfected Rolls

Instructions
- Dissolve yeast in 1 cup of warm water.
- In a large mixing bowl with a dough hook, beat together shortening, 2 cups water, salt, sugar, and 6 cups of flour until not lumpy.
- Add yeast mixture and beat in 3 to 3 1/2 cups of flour.
- Mix well.
- Cover dough with a damp cloth and let rise for 1 1/2 to 2 hours or until doubled in bulk.
- Turn out on a floured board and roll about 1/2 inch thick.
- Cut or shape the dough as desired.
- Optional: Brush melted margarine on the rolls.
- Let rise a second time for 1 to 2 hours or until doubled.
- Bake at 400°F for 10 to 15 minutes.
