Ingredients

  • 1 can (1 lb. 13 oz.) pineapple slices
  • 1 egg
  • 5 slices of zwieback or bread crumbs

Instructions

  1. Drain the pineapple slices and beat the egg slightly.
  2. Crush the zwieback or bread to make 1 cup of crumbs.
  3. Dip each pineapple slice first in the beaten egg, then in the bread crumbs.
  4. Fry the coated pineapple slices in melted butter or margarine until crisp and golden on both sides.
  5. Serve hot, especially good with ham.
