Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup salt
  • 1 tablespoon powdered alum
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons salad oil
  • food coloring

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix flour, salt, and powdered alum together. Set aside.
  2. In a medium saucepan, bring water and salad oil to a boil.
  3. Remove from heat and pour over the flour mixture.
  4. Stir until well mixed.
  5. Knead the dough until smooth.
  6. Add a few drops of food coloring to the dough and knead to distribute the color.
  7. Store in a covered container.
