A warm, fragrant poached dried fruit compote infused with cinnamon, cloves, and wine, perfect for cozy desserts or breakfast with a hint of spice and fruity sweetness.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz. mixed dried fruit (such as pears, apricots, apples, prunes)
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 4 whole cloves
  • 1/2 cup white Riesling or Rhine wine (or substitute white grape juice)

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a saucepan.
  2. Bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes until the fruit is tender.
  3. Cool the mixture. Discard cinnamon sticks and cloves.
  4. Serve warm.
