Ingredients

  • 1 lb. Polish sausage or smoked sausage
  • 2 (15 oz.) cans chopped sauerkraut
  • 4 potatoes
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. water

Instructions

  1. Brown Polish sausage in oil in a large skillet or Dutch oven.
  2. Add rinsed and drained sauerkraut, sugar, and water to the sausage.
  3. Add peeled and quartered potatoes and the bay leaf.
  4. Cover and simmer until potatoes are tender.
  5. Serve hot with cornbread and salad.
