Ingredients

  • 3 to 4 lb beef arm or blade pot roast
  • 8 oz seasoned tomato sauce
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 envelope onion soup mix
  • 2 teaspoons caraway seed
  • 2 bay leaves

Instructions

  1. Roll the beef in flour and brown slowly on all sides in a little hot fat.
  2. Mix the seasoned tomato sauce, water, onion soup mix, caraway seed, and bay leaves.
  3. Add the mixture to the browned meat.
  4. Cover and cook slowly for 2 1/2 hours or until tender.
