Poultry Stuffings
Ingredients
- 3/4 c. butter or margarine (1/4 lb. plus 4 Tbsp.)
- 3 large onions, chopped ⓘ
- 1 1/2 tsp. marjoram leaves ⓘ
- 3/4 tsp. each: pepper, ground sage and thyme leaves ⓘ
- 12 c. day old whole wheat or white bread or a combination of the two, cut into 1/2-inch cubes ⓘ
- 2 c. chopped celery ⓘ
- 1/2 c. chopped parsley ⓘ
- salt ⓘ
Instructions
- Melt 1/2 cup of the butter in a wide frying pan over medium heat.
- Add onions and cook, stirring occasionally, until golden (about 15 minutes).
- Add remaining 4 tablespoons butter, marjoram, pepper, sage and thyme.
- Remove from heat.
