Ingredients

  • 24 whole graham crackers
  • 1 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Arrange graham crackers in a single layer in an ungreased 15 x 10 x 1-inch baking pan.
  3. Combine butter and brown sugar in a small, heavy saucepan.
  4. Over medium heat, bring the mixture to a boil.
  5. Boil for two minutes.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in chopped pecans.
  7. Spread the pecan mixture evenly over the graham crackers.
  8. Bake for 90 minutes.
  9. The topping will initially look bubbly and then will appear to set.
  10. Remove from oven and place on a rack to cool.
  11. While still warm, cut crackers in half with a sharp knife.
  12. Store in a tightly covered container for up to two weeks.
